(Weatherford, Tx) – Parker County Commissioners have called a special meeting for tomorrow to discuss the fate of the Confederate monument that sits on the courthouse lawn in Weatherford.
Following a violent clash between protesters over the weekend, Parker County Judge Pat Deen says the statue will be removed. The Daughters of the Confederacy say they own the statue and would like to relocate it to prevent it from being damaged.
Weatherford Mayor Paul Paschall has called on the county and the Daughters of the Confederacy to set a specific date for the removal and relocation of the monument.
