Fort Worth ISD Delays Start Of School To September 8th

(Fort Worth, TX) — The Fort Worth ISD is postponing the start of the school year until September 8th, beginning with four weeks of virtual learning.

School board trustees made the decision in an emergency meeting on Thursday. The board voted 8-1 in favor of the plan after five hours of discussion and hearing from the community. Teachers and staff members preferred keeping the previous plan, which called for six weeks of virtual learning.

Some parents and students said they wanted to be back on campus from the first day of school.
