(Cresson, Tx) – Drivers should expect more delays Wednesday through Saturday nights due to the ongoing construction of the U.S. Highway 377 bypass in Cresson.

Construction activity involves work on the steel beams over SH 171 and the railroad yards, so roadway closures are needed for safety concerns. SH 171 will have roadway closures just east of Slocum Ranch Road (west of US 377).  Traffic will be detoured from SH 171 to US 377 southbound and travel to FM 167 northbound and to FM 3450 eastbound to SH 171 (reverse for the opposite direction).

• Aug. 12 to 14, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Nightly closure, Wednesday night to Saturday morning, the road to be open during each daytime)

Signs for the detour routes are along the roadway for drivers during the closures.
