(San Antonio, TX)  —  A new Texas A&M study is the first to demonstrate that cats can catch the coronavirus.

Dr. Italo Zecca says that it doesn’t mean you have to get rid of your cat.  He says cats that have tested positive show symptoms such as a stuffy nose, but he adds that the virus is not deadly for felines like it can be for humans.

So far, there’s a small but growing list of coronavirus cases among pets in the United States.
