(Fort Worth, Tx) – Weatherford College in Weatherford and Tarleton State University in Stephenville have been named as one of the safest college campuses in Texas, based on a survey by YourLocalSecurity.com.

Tarleton ranks No. 5 in the survey’s top 10 safest college campuses in the state, one of four Texas A&M University System members to claim positions.  West Texas A&M University ranked first in the survey, while Texas A&M-Commerce and Prairie View A&M University were 8 and 9, respectively.

Weatherford College was ranked as the 2nd Safest College Campus in Texas.  Texas Woman’s University in Denton finished out the top 10.

The survey is based on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Campus Safety and Security and the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report.
