(Graham, Tx) – A small family-owned oil company in Young County is celebrating its biggest discovery yet.

A reported 13,000-acre field in West Texas, holding an estimated 74.2 million barrels in oil and gas reserves.  According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Barron Petroleum, based in Graham, announced the discovery on Monday.   The company says they have successfully drilling two wells at the site which is located about 35 miles south of Ozona in Val Verde County.

The new field will be developed over the next 5 to 10 years.
