(Undated) — Texas Rangers pitcher Ian Gibaut and manager Chris Woodward are facing suspensions for their actions in Monday’s game against the San Diego Padres.
Gibaut threw a pitch behind a hitter after the Padres’ Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grand slam on a three-oh count. With the bases loaded and the Padres up by seven, Tatis swung through a take sign from coaches. After the game, Woodward said Tatis had violated an unwritten baseball rule.
The skipper served his one-game ban on Tuesday. Gibaut was given three games, but has appealed.
