Feds Approve Grant Request For Additional Unemployment Benefits

(Austin, TX) — Jobless Texans can expect more unemployment benefits to be coming their way soon.

Gov. Greg Abbott has announced that federal officials have approved the state’s request for a grant to fund an extra $300 a week in benefits for Texans who lost their jobs because of the pandemic.

The Texas Workforce Commission says eligible Texans who make their regular request for payment should start receiving the extra money more or less immediately.
