(Austin, TX) — More than 347-thousand unemployed Texans don’t qualify for the additional $300 weekly payments issued by the Trump administration.

The Texas Workforce Commission says some don’t qualify because they didn’t state when they filed for unemployment benefits that they lost their jobs because of the pandemic.  They can qualify by making that adjustment to their filing status.

The rest don’t qualify because they currently receive less than $100 a week in unemployment benefits.
