(Austin, TX) — The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission is making it less difficult for the state’s bars to reopen as restaurants.
The agency made a regulatory amendment on Tuesday that will allow bars to qualify for a food and beverage certificate more easily. A bar is no longer required to have a full kitchen with commercial cooking gear to obtain the classification that 51% of its revenue comes from food sales.
The presence of a food truck on the property, or the sale of pre-packaged items from another business, will be good enough.
