(Austin, TX) — The Texas Education Agency says more than 3,600 Texas teachers will get a pay boost for the next five-years.
The agency announced on Tuesday its first list of names receiving its Teacher Incentive Allotment, which the state legislature created last year. The TEA says the idea is to keep good teachers in classrooms.
About $40-million will be distributed over the next five-years to 26 school districts where the selected teachers work.
