(Cresson, TX) — We now have the identity of the North Texas firefighter who died Monday while fighting a California wildfire.

Cresson Fire Chief Ron Becker says 63-year-old Diana Jones was an EMT and a firefighter with the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department.  Jones and her son, a fire captain with the Cresson VFD, went to Oregon in July to fight fires before moving on to California.

Jones was killed while battling a fire in the Mendocino National Forest north of San Francisco.
