(Fort Worth, TX) — A man is in federal custody after a failed bank robbery in Fort Worth.
The FBI says 63-year-old Michael Mankin entered a Spirit of Texas Bank last Tuesday. He reportedly handed a teller a threatening note demanding money, but the teller said she didn’t have any, and even showed him the empty drawer. Mankin left emptyhanded, and soon turned himself in at the federal courthouse.
The FBI says the attempted robbery came just four days after Mankin was released from a 15-year sentence for a previous bank robbery.
