(Dallas, TX) — The first aquarium in Texas is about to close.
The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park is going to shut down once all the animals are relocated. Dallas Zoo CEO Gregg Hudson tells The Dallas Morning News it cost too much to keep the aquarium open due to equipment and building maintenance. He also cited the coronavirus pandemic.
The aquarium first opened in 1936.
