Health Officials Warn Of Scammers Posing As COVID-19 Contact Tracers

(Undated) — Health officials in Texas are warning of scammers who are posing as COVID-19 contact tracers.

There are reports these scammers are calling people saying they are doing COVID-19 contact tracing. But they ask for personal information that real contact tracers don’t ask for such as a person’s social security number.

Some also ask for payment for the contact tracing service which a real tracer doesn’t do either.
