Fort Worth Naval Air Base Chosen for Transport Aircraft

(Ft. Worth, TX) — The U-S Force has picked the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth as one of six main operating bases for its new transport plane.

The Air Force expects eight C-130J aircraft will arrive in Fort Worth by late 2022 or early 2023. The new transport plane will reduce manpower requirements and cut operating and support costs over previous C-130 models.

It also flies farther at a higher cruise speed.
