Tornado Damages Homes, Businesses In Arlington

(Arlington, TX) — The National Weather Service is investigating whether a tornado touched down last night in Arlington, collapsing roofs and damaging homes and businesses across the city.

No major injuries have been reported. Fire and police units in Arlington responded to several reports of collapsed buildings. Among the buildings suffering major damage is the Waterdance Apartment Complex on Arkansas Lane and The Mirage Apartments. 75 families were displaced.

Police say they had to extricate a family after a roof from the Burger Box restaurant on S. Cooper Street, fell on their car while they were waiting in the drive-thru line. The family suffered only minor injuries.
