TPWD: No Evidence North Texas Man Was Killed By Mountain Lion

(Granbury, TX) – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says there’s no evidence a man was killed by a Mountain Lion in Hood County. 

The Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Christopher Whiteley was found dead in a wooded area near Howell Road in Lipan, after he’d been reported missing a day earlier.  The Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined Whiteley’s cause of death was a wild animal attack, Hood County investigators think it could have been a mountain lion.  T

PWD says they have no record of confirmed Mountain Lion sightings in Hood County and released a statement Sunday saying it did not find “any evidence of a predatory attack by a Mountain Lion….where the victim was found”.
