(Dallas, TX) — Southwest Airlines is not planning any furloughs or pay cuts next year.
Southwest CEO Gary Kelly told employees with the Dallas-based airline Monday the decision was made after President Donald Trump signed another coronavirus relief package. Kelly says he’s very thankful for the employees who lobbied Congress to provide more for airlines because it saved jobs.
He did note Southwest is overstaffed in many areas so people can participate in voluntary time off if they want.
