(Arlington, Tx) – Wednesday marks the 25th anniversary of the kidnapping and murder of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman in Arlington.
A murder that remains unsolved to this day. Hagerman was riding her bike in the parking lot of an abandoned grocery store on January 13, 1996 when a witness says he saw someone pull up in a pick-up truck and force the little girl inside before driving off. Her body was found 4 days later in an Arlington creek bed.
Hagerman’s kidnapping and murder eventually led to the nationwide program we know as the AMBER Alert. Arlington police say to date they’ve gotten more than 7,000 tips about the case, but no arrests have been made.
There is still a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
