(Austin, TX) — Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is calling for changes to the coronavirus vaccine rollout plan.
Patrick recommended creating subgroups within Phase 1B so all residents with chronic conditions don’t rush to get their vaccine at the same time. His plan would vaccinate Texans age 75 and older first, followed by teachers and school staff over 65 before doing the rest of Phase 1B.
He says the current rollout plan has Texans feeling frustrated with long lines, having to call a phone number repeatedly, or spending hours online just to get an appointment.
