(Fort Worth, TX) — A state representative from North Texas says it’s time to allow college athletes to get paid.
Representative Matt Krause of Fort Worth has filed a bill that would allow players to profit off their name and likeness without jeopardizing their eligibility. California and Florida have passed similar bills. The Supreme Court announced this week they will hear arguments for an NCAA case about student-athlete compensation next month.
Krause says his bill is fair to the athletes, and is part of a growing nationwide trend.
