(Dallas, TX)  —  The Dallas Mavericks will be playing the National Anthem prior to its home games after all.

The day after team owner Mark Cuban confirmed that the franchise hadn’t played “The Star-Spangled Banner” so far this season and had no plans to do so, the NBA announced that all the teams in the league are required to play it.  State officials were about to get involved.

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick announced the Star Spangled Banner Protection Act on Wednesday, requiring the playing of the anthem prior to public events.
