Lawmaker Questions Whether Freeway Was De-iced Prior To Crash

(Dallas, TX) — A Fort Worth state representative says he’s wondering whether the road surface of I-35W was de-iced prior to Thursday’s deadly pileup.

Ramon Romero says he has friends in the fire department and police department who told him they saw no evidence the road had been treated. They were working the scene of a 133-vehicle crash that killed six people and injured dozens more.

Rep. Romero says he plans to call for hearings in Austin to question North Tarrant Express Mobility Partners, the company that maintains that stretch of I-35W.
