(Austin, TX)  —  Rotating power outages are still going on in Texas due to huge power demands.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says reserves dropped below a thousand megawatts and won’t recover within half an hour.  They want utilities to lower the demand through rotating outages which last between ten and 45 minutes.

Temperatures across the state have been below freezing due to a winter storm.  The controlled outages are expected to go on all day today and possibly all tomorrow.
