Cruz Back In Texas After Controversial Trip To Cancun

(Houston, TX) — Republican Senator Ted Cruz is back in Texas after a controversial trip to Cancun.

Cruz accompanied his family to Mexico while his state is being hammered by a severe weather crisis. His trip provoked a fierce backlash on social media as many Texans struggle for warmth, water and food. Cruz explained that he was just trying to be “a good dad” by escorting his daughters on an impromptu trip to Cancun with friends before returning to Texas.

The senator said his family lost power at their Houston home too. Cruz says if he could do it all over, he wouldn’t have boarded a flight Mexico with his family on Wednesday.
