(Austin, TX) — Gov. Greg Abbott says more than half of the state’s seniors have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Abbott tweeted the announcement on Monday. He also sent a series of tweets noting that the state’s positivity rate is just below eight-percent, the lowest in five-months, and that the number of hospitalizations is the lowest since October. The governor noted that Texas is scheduled to receive nearly one-point-four-million coronavirus vaccine doses this week.
He encouraged all seniors and teachers to make an appointment for one.
