Woman Says She Killed Her Kids To Keep Them From Being Abused

(Irving, TX) — A North Texas woman claims she murdered her young daughter to keep them from being abused.

Irving police say Madison McDonald called 911 on Monday night from the lobby of the police department and told dispatchers she believed she had smothered her children. Officers found the bodies of one-year-old Lillian McDonald and six-year-old Archer Hammond in their home at the nearby Anthem Apartments on Cowboys Parkway.

The 30-year-old mother is accused of capital murder. Child Protective Services confirmed it has a history with the family but didn’t give details.

McDonald grew up in Weatherford.
