(Fort Worth, TX) — The Fort Worth City Secretary’s Office is ruling a candidate ineligible because of his criminal record.
Erik Richerson was 17-years-old when he robbed a couple with an unloaded handgun in Seattle in 1999. He was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for first-degree robbery. On Friday, the city’s secretary office declared Richerson ineligible to run for city council because of the felony conviction.
Richerson was running for the District 9 seat.
