(Fort Worth, TX)  —  Fort Worth police say they approve of a new city ordinance that outlaws being a spectator at illegal street racing and stunting events.

City Council on Tuesday approved the new ordinance, which provides for fines of up to 500-dollars for gathering at the dangerous events.  Fort Worth Asst. Police Chief Robert Alldredge says there’s no event if there are no spectators.

Anyone watching, recording, or simply being present at a street takeover is subject to the ordinance.
