(Galveston, TX) — For the first time in over a year, cruise ships are expected to dock in Galveston Sunday.
Carnival’s Breeze and Vista are expected to arrive sometime today. While the arrivals don’t mean sailing will resume immediately, it’s a sign that sea cruising is at least on the horizon. The CDC told cruise operators last week that sailing could resume by July.
Officials say $1.2 billion dollars in spending in Texas is tied to the cruise industry and it employs about 23,000 people.
