(Austin, TX)  —  About one-in-four Americans has been vaccinated, but health leaders say we’ve hit a plateau.

Dr. Charles Lerner with the Texas Medical Association says we need to enlist the help of “influencers” to reach those who are hesitant about getting the vaccine.  Lerner says influencers are people who aren’t doctors, including religious leaders, sports stars, and those active on social media.  But it’s turning out to be a tough sell.

Popular podcaster Joe Rogan recently questioned whether young, healthy people should be vaccinated.
