
(Dallas, TX) — A Hill County constable who was shot in the line of duty last week is recovering from surgery.
Constable Kevin Cordell went home from the hospital on Friday, the day after he was shot in the face during a high-speed chase. He returned to the hospital on Monday for surgery. Cordell was shot while chasing two murder suspects who were wanted in Dallas. When the chase ended in Johnson County, a shootout resulted.
Officers killed one suspect and wounded the other. Cordell says he’s glad to be alive.
