(Austin, TX) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed a handful of bills that he says will “Back the Blue.”

One of the bills signed Tuesday will freeze property tax revenues in Texas cities that defund police.  Another enhances criminal penalties for assaulting an officer.

Protesters who block emergency vehicles in Texas will now face a state jail felony.
