(Denton, TX) — A trial date is now set for a former Texas Rangers pitcher charged with child sex abuse.
John Wetteland was arrested two years ago on accusations that he repeatedly abused a young relative who was between four and six-years old at the time. A judge in Denton County set the trial date for January 31st of next year.
Wetteland played with the Rangers for four seasons in the late 1990s. Prior to that time, he was a World Series MVP with the New York Yankees.
