Fort Worth, Arlington Have New Mayors

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth and Arlington have new mayors after Saturday’s runoff elections.

Mattie Parker has defeated Deborah Peoples to become the next mayor of Fort Worth. Outgoing Mayor Betsy Price’s former chief of staff defeated her opponent 53.5% to 46.5%.

In Arlington, Jim Ross will take the seat of mayor for term-limited outgoing mayor Jeff Williams. Ross, a lawyer and former city police officer, took home about 54% of the vote over his opponent, former city council and school board member Michael Glaspie.
