(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth’s mayor-elect Mattie Parker is considering where to start with her administration of the city.
On Sunday, she said she plans to focus on education and workforce training, as well as keeping the city’s neighborhoods safe. The former chief of staff for Mayor Betsy Price defeated Deborah Peoples in Saturday’s runoff.
Slightly more than 87,000 cast ballots in a city with a population of nearly a million, and while that turnout may not sound impressive, it’s much higher than usual.
