Ted Cruz Believes McConaughey Would Be Formidable Candidate For Governor

(Undated) — Texas Senator Ted Cruz isn’t underestimating Matthew McConaughey.

In a radio interview, the Republican Senator called the Oscar winning actor a “formidable candidate” should he decide to run for governor of the Lone Star State. Cruz noted he respects McConaughey on a personal level, but he hopes he doesn’t put his name on the ticket.

McConaughey has said publicly he has been floating the idea of running for office.
