State Fair’s Funnel Cake Queen Dies

(Dallas, TX) — Funeral arrangements are pending for a legendary character at the State Fair of Texas.

The family of the “Funnel Cake Queen” are announcing that she died over the weekend at the age of 95. Wanda “Fernie” Winter discovered funnel cakes during a family vacation in Branson, Missouri.

She first brought her own funnel cakes to Fair Park in the early 1980s.
