Suspect In Shooting Of North Texas Officer Arrested In AR

(Batesville, AR) — The suspect in the shooting of a Rhome police officer is now in custody.

Wise County Sheriff’s Office credit a tip with leading them to the Arkansas motel Thursday morning where Royce Wood was staying. Law enforcement had been searching for the 43-year-old since June 13th when he allegedly shot the officer during a traffic stop then took off. The officer survived. Wood’s girlfriend, Tiffany Caswell, was also arrested at the motel.

It’s believed the pair robbed a New Fairview home the day before the officer was shot.
