(Parker County, Tx) – A chase that started with a traffic stop in Parker County ended in a standoff in Fort Worth.

The Parker County Sheriff’s Office says Thursday morning, a deputy attempted to pull over the driver of a motorcycle with no plates on East Hwy 199 in Springtown.  The rider refused to stop and sped off with his female passenger leading officers on a chase with speeds of up to 90 mph at times.

At one point, the driver dropped the woman at a gas station in Lake Worth.  The man then barricaded himself in a home on Volder Drive in west Fort Worth.  A Fort Worth SWAT team was called in, but stood down when several people came out of the house saying the suspect was unarmed.

A Parker County Fugitive Strike Team made entry into the home and found the man hiding under a bed.  He was taken into custody without incident.  35-year-old Scott Eric Ford of Fort Worth was taken to the Parker County jail on a charge of evading detention.
