(Southlake, TX) — Authorities say a pair of angry birds is responsible for several attacks on people living in Southlake.
According to a release sent out by the Southlake PD, runners, bikers, and walkers have reported being attacked by the birds since late May. Officials have identified the species of the attackers as Mississippi Kites, a small bird of prey known for appearing to float in the air during flight.
Wildlife experts say the birds are protected by federal law and will continue to aggressively defend their nest until their chicks are old enough to live independently.
