(Alvarado, TX) — The chief of police in Alvarado is on administrative leave while undergoing an investigation.
The city council of the Johnson County town voted on Wednesday night to place Chief Brad Anderson on paid leave pending the outcome. Sgt. Tony Simms has been nominated to act as chief of police for the time being. Alvarado officials haven’t said why Anderson is being investigated, though there’s no indication that he’s suspected of a crime.
They also haven’t said which outside agency is conducting the probe nor how long it may take.
