(Dallas, TX) — The annual cloud of Saharan dust is making its way to North Texas this week for the first time this year.

The Saharan dust layer may make for hazy skies in the area today through Wednesday.   The fine dust particles may cause allergy-like symptoms for people suffering from respiratory issues.

On the plus side, the dust cloud makes for some cool red sunsets, and also hampers the development of hurricanes in the Atlantic and the Caribbean.
