(Austin, TX) — Some Republicans in the Texas House want to see an audit of the 2020 election in the state.

House Bill 241 calls for an independent third-party forensic audit of the election results in every precinct of Texas counties with populations of at least 415,000.  Texas Republicans deny Democrats’ claims that their election integrity bill is in response to former President Trump’s loss in 2020.

Rep. Jim Murphy of Houston, chair of the GOP House Caucus, says the 2020 election isn’t the only one that made it clear that election integrity is needed.
