(Dallas, TX) — Jake Ellzey is the winner of Tuesday’s special election for the Sixth Congressional District of Texas.
Ellzey, a former Navy pilot, defeated Susan Wright, the widow of late Rep. Ron Wright, even though she had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Ellzey won more than 53% of the vote.
In May, Ellzey and Susan Wright, both Republicans, advanced to the runoff in an election to replace Wright’s husband, who died of coronavirus complications in February.
