(Austin, TX) — A federal judge is blocking Gov. Greg Abbott’s executive order that directed state troopers to pull over vehicles carrying suspected illegal immigrants.

The ruling means the order will likely fail against a legal challenge from the Biden administration. The Justice Department sued the state on Friday, two days after Abbott signed the order.
