(Fort Worth, TX) — More than 165 physicians with Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth are urging North Texas school districts to protect kids.

In response to the surge in coronavirus cases and the spread of the Delta variant, the doctors issued a letter calling on school officials to emphasize masks and vaccinations as the school year starts.  Dr. Jason Terk says everybody who’s in school should be masked regardless of vaccination status.

Pediatricians also report a rise in other respiratory illnesses, including RSV, as in-person activities return.
