(Dallas, TX) — At least ten Afghan families are now new residents of the North Texas area after the Taliban offensive conquered their home country.
Taliban leaders took over Kabul on Monday, setting up checkpoints across the city to find locals who helped the American war effort. The Refugee Services of Texas is working to make sure those who assisted the U.S. military can find a home in the States.
The agency says it expects to resettle 324 Afghan refugees in the weeks ahead in Texas cities such as Fort Worth, Dallas, Houston, and Austin.
