Fort Worth ISD Plans Meeting To Discuss Masks

(Fort Worth, TX) — The Fort Worth ISD is planning a special meeting this evening at 6:30 p.m. to discuss masks.

Monday was the first day of school in the district, and school officials say at least 80-percent of kids and staff wore masks during school hours. A judge blocked Fort Worth ISD’s mask requirement last week, and the question of whether Gov. Greg Abbott can ban local mask mandates is still in court.

For now, Fort Worth ISD Superintendent Kent Scribner says the district is “strongly encouraging” masks.
